site.btaGeneral Government Gross External Debt at EUR 34 Bln 5681.2 million (10% of GDP) in End-July, 4.6% Increase Y/Y

Sofia, September 28 (BTA) - Bulgaria's gross external debt at
the end of July 2020 was 35,611.5 million euro (62.7 per cent of
 GDP), the Bulgarian National Bank said. The debt increased by
581.4 million euro (1.7 per cent) compared to July 2019.

As at end-July 2020, long-term liabilities amounted to 27,744.2
million euro (77.9 per cent of the gross debt, 48.9 per cent of
the GDP), while long-term debt increased by 1,310.3 million euro
 (5 per cent), year-on-year.

The General government's gross external debt totalled 5681.2
million euro (10 per cent of GDP) in end-July 2020. Compared to
the end of 2019 (5427.5 million euro, 8.9 per cent of GDP), it
increased by 253.7 million euro (4.7 per cent). The external
liabilities of the sector increased by 249.4 million euro (4.6
per cent) compared to July 2019.

The external liabilities of the Banking sector amounted to
4,415.6 million euro (7.8 per cent of GDP). The debt of the
Banking sector decreased year-on-year by 212.5 million euro (4.6
