site.btaPM Borissov: 2021 Budget to Give by Lv 460 Mln More for Healthcare

October 4 (BTA) - Visiting the north-central town of Gabrovo on Sunday, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said that next year's state budget will include by 460 million leva more for healthcare. He recalled that social workers, who now have more tasks due to the pandemic, have gotten a 30 per cent pay raise, and teachers' salaries will also be increased.

"We are not placing anything under lockdown, we are putting the medical system under pressure to the maximum, therefore next year's budget envisages more resources for healthcare," Borissov explained. According to him, it is important to preserve people's mental health, because the coronavirus will not disappear soon.

In his words, there always are discontent people, and the fact that they can express their discontent means there is democracy. He jested that after he watched the presidential debate in the US and heard the candidates' political speeches and the epithets they threw at each other, he relaxed with the knowledge that exchanging such insults is normal in Bulgaria, too.

While in Gabrovo, Borissov visited a newly built church and the dam supplying the town and the region.
