Sofia, June 17 (BTA) - The national recovery and resilience
plans are an investment in the modernisation, solidarity and joint power and future of the EU, President Rumen Radev said. He and other leaders of EU member states were participating in Thursday's videoconference meeting with the President of the European Council Charles Michel, the president's press secretariat said.

Radev pointed out that the Bulgarian recovery and resilience
plan is in the process of preparation and will be presented in
July.

The talk, at the initiative of Michel, is part of the
preparations for the regular meeting of the European Council, to
be held on June 24 and 25 in Brussels. The subjects discussed
included the measures for economic revival following the
pandemic and migration.

Although the pandemic has not passed yet, European response
forces in times of crisis have to be strengthened and the
stability of health systems of member countries should be
improved, Radev said.

The President also expressed Bulgaria's desire to donate
vaccines to the Republic of North Macedonia and called for
easing the procedures in that respect.

Bulgaria pays special attention to the external dimension of
migration as an important pillar of the EU's overall approach in
this field, the head of state also said, hailing the deepening
cooperation with countries in regions neighboring to Europe.
Radev added that the EU still needs a plan for response in case
of rapid migration influx./NV/BR
