Sofia, November 20 (BTA) - The Foreign Ministry has delivered the voting machines and ballot papers to 99.47 per cent of the voting sections abroad ahead of Sunday's presidential runoff. An unprecedented 72-hour effort with logistics partner DHL has made it possible to send and deliver 710,000 ballot papers to 750 voting sections and 326 voting machines to 208 sections on all continents except the Antarctic, the Foreign Ministry said on Saturday.
Despite the round-the-clock efforts of the Foreign Ministry, the diplomatic representations and DHL, four voting sections - two in Adelaide and Brisbane, Australia, one in Christchurch, New Zealand, and one in St. Louis, Missouri - will not get ballot papers in time for Election Day due to the pressure for time, the long distances and difficulties caused by the pandemic. Those four account for 0.53 per cent of all voting sections abroad.
The Central Election Commission is aware of the situation and is expected to make a decision about voting in those four sections, the Foreign Ministry said. DD
