Sofia, July 27 (BTA) - GERB leader Boyko Borissov has promptly sent a letter to Prosecutor General Stori Tsatsarov in relation to Sunday's statements of Bulgaria without Censorship leader Nikolai Barekov. Barekov said on Nova TV that Borissov is connected to the communist-era State Security and other services, and that he has been prepared for over 30 years to take important positions in the state and carry out a certain mission.

Barekov said he has documents to attest to his statement but that other key figures of the transition are also involved, which is why he will refer them to the prosecution. He requested moral and civil support to make documents proving untoward relations between political leaders public. He called the political elite "corrupt and empty" and appealed for it to leave the political scene.

He claimed he is one of the few people today who know the truth about the "Boyko Borissov" project, promised to make all documents at his disposal public and said their content is "hair-raising".

Borissov responded by saying these assertions are slanderous and insisted that the Prosecutor General check all assertions made by Barekov on July 27. GERB's leader is currently suing Barekov on five cases of slander and insult. He insists that the investigation involves all archives of the Interior Ministry, the National Intelligence Service and the former State Security.
