Sofia, August 9 (BTA) - Former foreign minister Kristian Vigenin reported a number of mistakes of his party's coalition with the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) on Saturday.

The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) was the one to pay the price for the coalition government, said he. The main problems were related to the differences between the two parties and the lack of clear, preliminarily agreed principles. "This complex coalition - I would even not call it a coalition as there was no coalition agreement - was the foundation of the government and this foundation would crack regularly," said he. "We would focus on the exercise of governance, while neglecting the party and they would use the power to strengthen their party."

Vigenin also criticized the role of former prime minister Plamen Oresharski. "Under the previous government, everything would happen at the prime minister's will." At the same time, ex-prime minister Oresharski could not, did not wish or was not allowed to turn into the frontman of that government, he observed.

Regarding the caretaker cabinet, Vigenin said that it fulfills the personal ambitions of the President. "This is the revenge of President Plevneliev and of the so-called civil protest, which was political, as we have always known. This is proved by the broad inclusion of participants in the protest in the government." According to Vigenin, the Cabinet has the task to prepare the ground for a new government of GERB.

"In order to achieve success at the elections in October, BSP should show that it is independent from MRF," said Kaloyan Pargov, Chair of the Sofia structure of BSP.

The Sofia structure of the Socialists proposed hitherto MPs Zhelyu Boichev, Georgi Svilenski and Yanaki Stoilov as top candidates in the three Sofia constituencies. The top-of-the-list candidates are to be approved at a meeting of the BSP National Council in the end of next week.
