Just Revenue Agency and Customs Measures Contributed to 10.8% Nominal Revenue Increase - Finance Minister

Sofia, June 22 (BTA) - Just the measures which were taken at the
National Revenue Agency and the Customs Agency have contributed
to a 10.8 per cent nominal year-on-year increase of revenue by
June 18, Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov said. He was taking
part in a Monday roundtable titled "For an economy in the open".
Participants include Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, Deputy PM
Tomislav Donchev and ministers.

This means 1,109 million leva more revenue for the budget. The
nominal increase of revenue from insurance contributions stands
at 12.2 per cent (119 million leva), the highest increase being
recorded in the case of health insurance - 13.5 per cent.

In the first five months of the current year the balance has
improved by over 2,000 million leva, and the trend is
persistent, in spite of considerable resistance, Goranov said.

Reduction of the grey sector by 7 percentage points by 2020 is
the objective of the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association
(BICA). This would lead to 2,000 million leva more revenue a
year, BICA President Vassil Velev said. In his opinion, from
2010 until now the grey sector has shrunk from 35 to 30 per cent
and this gives reason to think the objective is
achievable.
