Health Ministry to Alert Prosecuting Magistracy about "Dangerous" Campaign about  Vaccines Quality

Sofia, October 22 (BTA) - The Health Ministry will alert the prosecuting magistracy about a "dangerous" campaign about the quality of vaccines, Health Minister Peter Moskov told reporters on Thursday. "This is an attack against the Health Ministry and against the national security, because such campaigns give rise to doubts about the quality of vaccines for children and whether children immunization should be done at all," Moskov said, adding that he was deeply contemptuous of the people who are behind the campaign.

The Health Minister said that Turkey, which donated the pentavalent vaccine to Bulgaria, too is ready to file a lawsuit. Moskov once again said that the vaccine will not be used in the mandatory immunization schedule or used on children.

Bulgaria had announced competitive bidding for 250,000 pentavalent vaccines but the procedure failed. A new bidding procedure for vaccines is to be announced, Moskov said, urging companies to take part.
