Bulgarian School Team Wins One Gold, Two Silver, One Bronze Medal at International Astronomy Olympiad in Russia
Sofia, October 23 (BTA) - A Bulgarian team of pupils won one
gold, two silver and one bronze medal at the 20th International
Astronomy Olympiad in Kazan, Russia, the Education and Science
Ministry said in a press release.
Stefan Ivanov, a nine-grade pupil in the Acad. Nikola Obreshkov
School of Natural Sciences and Maths in Bourgas, on the Black
Sea, won a gold medal and a special diploma for the highest
score achieved at the Olympiad.
Georgi Alexandrov, also in the ninth grade, of the Sofia Maths
School, won a silver medal, as did his classmate Boiko Borissov.
Peter Dimitrov, a nine-grade pupil in the Sofia School of
Natural Sciences and Maths, won a bronze medal.
The Olympiad had three rounds: theoretical, practical and
observatory, and was hosted by the Kazan Federal University.
