MRF's Yordan Tsonev:DSB Perceive Reforms as Consumption of Power

Varna, on the Black Sea, March 19 (BTA) - Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB) perceive reforms in the country only as consumption of power, said MP Yordan Tsonev of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) in Varna on Saturday. He said that the shocks in the ruling coalition confirm MRF's opinion that the coalition in this format is not working for the benefit of the country despite the efforts of the Prime Minister and GERB.

"It is a matter of the stability and the government of the country at a very complex time for the region and Europe," said Tsonev. "It will be good if at least until the presidential elections there are no early elections. But if the ruling coalition is in such a bad shape, I donТt know if GERB will put up with the pressure. They bear the whole responsibility but power is shared," he said.

MRF co-chair Chetin Kazak didn't rule out a serious political crisis with the ruling coalition shaken by fights for power and influence. "Soon there may be a second vote of no-confidence in the government and we won't mind if DSB decide to support us."

Of the upcoming presidential elections Kazak said that the party will decide whether to put forward its own candidate only after the other parties announce their nominees.

Kazak said that all structures of the MRF are in good shape and there is no walk out of members. He said that the new party of MRF former leader Lyutvi Mestan, DOST, is not a threat to the Movement and that the MRF is not concerned with the introduction of compulsory voting although it is against it.

Kazak said that at a national conference on April 24 the party will decide how best to structure organize its leadership. He added that all organizations are unanimous that Ahmed Dogan is MRF's only leader and will remain MRF's leader regardless of who chairs the organization.

Kazak and Tsonev attended MRF's ninth regional conference in Varna. Participating were 211 delegates, who represented MRF's 2,800 regional members.
