Prime Minister Borissov Holds Telephone Conversation with Turkish Counterpart Yildirim

Sofia, July 9 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov Friday held a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Binali Yildirim, Cabinet's Press Service reported.

Borissov congratulated Yildirim on his election to head the Turkish Government, voicing hope that the contacts they had established when Yildirim was minister of transport will be beneficial for the good-neighbourly relations between the two countries.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister wished, on his and the Bulgarian Government's behalf, success, health, peace and calm to the Muslims in Turkey on the occasion of Seker Bayram.

The two prime ministers exchanged views about the situation in both countries, the migration crisis in Europe and observing the EU-Turkey agreement. Borissov said that Bulgaria can be an example of ethnic tolerance in the Balkans. "We have proven our tolerance, while our Government's efforts are for ensuring stability in the State and equal terms for all Bulgarian citizens," Borissov said. He noted that despite the increased migration flow, the border is calm thanks to the good joint work of the Bulgarian and Turkish border protection services.

Prime Minister Yildirim invited Borissov to attend the opening of the third bridge over the Bosphorus in August, which will provide yet another opportunity to connect Europe and Asia and enhance economic contacts between the countries from both continents.
