No Bulgarians Reported Injured in Thailand Bomb Blasts

Sofia, August 12 (BTA) - The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry said it has no information about any Bulgarian nationals killed or injured in a series of bomb blasts in five southern provinces of Thailand between Thursday and Friday, but tourists from several other European countries have been reported injured.

The Foreign Ministry recommended to Bulgarians travelling to Thailand to be particularly cautious, keep up to date with the situation in that country, closely follow international and local media reports, obey all instructions and restrictions issued by the local authorities, and avoid places where large numbers of people come together.

Bulgaria has no functioning embassy in the Thai capital Bangkok. Regarding consular matters, Bulgarians staying short- or long-term in the country can turn to the Bulgarian Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam, or Jakarta, Indonesia, the Foreign Ministry said.
