Specialized Prosecution Authority Presses Charges against Criminal Group for Drugs Distribution

Sofia, February 28 (BTA) - The Specialized Prosecution Office said on Tuesday that it has pressed charges against 12 participants in an organized criminal group, involved in the distribution of cocaine, ecstasy, amphetamine and marihuana in upmarket bars and restaurants in Sofia.

Ten of the group members were detained in a specialized operation on February 24, 2017. One of the participants is in the Sofia prison within another pretrial proceeding and one is wanted by the police.

The collected evidence shows that the group operated at the beginning of 2015 as in the summer months the narcotic substances were distributed in the Sunny Beach resort.

The distribution was very well organized by the group chief, Stanislav D. His closest aide, Kristiyan S., controlled the dealer and was in charge of supplies and the collection of money. He was also ahead of a "punitive squad", which was responsible for chasing competitors and imposing a monopoly on the market, the prosecution said.
