President Holds Working Meeting on Security, Forthcoming Elections

Sofia, March 20 (BTA) - Bulgarian President Rumen Radev Monday held the latest in a series of working meetings with the Prosecutor General and the heads of the security services, the head of State's Press Secretariat said. The participants in the meeting discussed the holding of the March 26 early parliamentary elections and national security.

A number of news media report that the relations with Turkey and its presumed intervention in the Bulgarian election campaign was also on the agenda of the meeting. This happens in the wake of last week's expulsion by the State Agency for National Security of two Turkish citizens from Bulgaria and barring the entry of a third one. According to the "Troud" daily, one of three Turkish nationals concerned was Edirne Governor's Office Chief Secretary Ibrahim Taranci.
