Turkish Prime Minister Yildirim Congratulates GERB Leader Borissov on Election Victory

Istanbul, April 14 (BTA exclusive by Nahide Deniz) - Turkey's Prime Minister Binali Yildirim has congratulated in a telephone conversation GERB leader Boyko Borissov on his party's victory in the March 26 Bulgarian parliamentary elections.

The Turkish Prime Minister's press service reported that he has underscored the expectations for the new government to contribute to Bulgaria stability, and to the establishment of good relations and continuing the close bilateral dialogue.

Yildirim wished the new Bulgarian government to be beneficial for the country.

According to sources from the government's press service, Borissov has thanked his Turkish colleague for the wishes, noting the importance he gives to the relations between Turkey and Bulgaria. The GERB leader has also wished that the results of the Sunday referendum in Turkey be good for the country.

Borissov has sent his regards and best wishes to Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan, Turkish sources also say.

GERB said in a press release on Friday that the Turkish Prime Minister and Borissov have discussed and reconfirmed the bilateral commitments for dealing with the migrant flow and providing security on the Bulgarian-Turkish border.
