Deputy Prime Minister Donchev Attends Cohesion Policy Meeting in Warsaw
Warsaw/Sofia, June 14 (BTA) - "The debate on the future EU convergence policy should on the priorities first and foremost. What direction will Europe take after 2020?", said Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev in Warsaw at a meeting of ministers in charge of cohesion policies of the Visegrad countries, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia and Croatia. It was attended by EU Commission for Budget and Human Resources Guenther Oettinger.
Donchev said: "Today the cohesion policy has turned into an universal instrument for addressing crises." He underscored that the approach for a limited access of a group of countries to the cohesion policy instruments doesn't lead to a sustainable and balanced development of the EU. He called for looking for solutions with a real value added for all regions.
The working meeting of the ministers is organized on the occasion of the end of the Polish Visegrad Group Presidency which will be passed over to Hungary. It was attended by Deputy Economy Minister Alexander Manolev too.
