site.btaBulgarian-Turkish Project Promotes Cultural Tourism

Sofia, August 5 (BTA) - Memories and stories told by local citizens, books, periodicals and films will be used to gather information and photos as a part of a study of legendary and mystic sites of the crossborder region between Bourgas (Bulgaria) and Edirne (Turkey). The initiative also includes implementation of the project "Road of Legends: Development of New Partnerships for the Development of Sustainable Cultural and Historical Tourism", which is financed by the European Union under the cross-border cooperation programme, Interreg - Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA) Bulgaria-Turkey 2014-2020, the press centre of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works said.

The project's budget is almost 160,000 leva and the purpose is to assist cooperation between the regional participants from the two countries and to promote sustainable tourism.

The Centre for Jewish-Bulgarian Cooperation Alef-Bulgaria and the Organization for Cross-border Culture Edirne - Turkey are the main partners within the project.
