Sofia, September 14 (BTA) - Sofia City Hall has collected 51 million leva more than it did in 2016, Deputy Mayor Doncho Barbalov who is responsible for finances told journalists Thursday. He was speaking after the annual report on the implementation of Sofia's budget for the previous year was passed at a meeting of the municipal council.

The results are exceedingly good: the revenue part has been implemented 100 per cent and the capital investment programme is developing very well, he added.

The council has also passed the implementation of the budget for the first six months of 2017, which reported better results year-on-year, Barbalov said.

Sofia's Deputy Mayor also commented that amendments to the Public Finances Act are currently being drafted. These are intended to make precise planning of revenue even more important for if the revisions are passed, municipalities will be unable to conclude contracts if they have faults in this field.
