Sofia, October 16 (BTA) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva has congratulated her Austrian counterpart and Austrian People's Party leader Sebastian Kurz on winning the parliamentary elections in his country, Zaharieva' ministry reported.

"The majority's support is the highest acknowledgement of your policy directed at your peoples' prosperity and building a strong, prosperous, and united Europe," the letter of congratulations reads.

Zaharieva thanks Kurz for the development of the close bilateral partnership and Austria's valuable support for Bulgaria within the EU, particularly in the context of the forthcoming Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council.

"I assure you that you can continue counting on my country as a friend and strategic partner also in light of the forthcoming Austrian Presidency of the EU Council," the letter also reads.
