Sofia, January 9 (BTA) - Staff at municipal hospitals will stage a symbolic protest on January 15, said Tuesday Nedelcho Totev, chair of the National Association of Municipal Hospitals.

Totev said that the main demands are not political and that "this was the last plea for help to the incumbents."

The protesters will insist that hospitals receive a subsidy of 30 million leva to eliminate the unfair attitude by the state to municipal healthcare in the past ten years. According to Totev, this money should come from the national budget. The Association will insist on immediate payment of services over the limit for 38 municipal hospitals which totalled 6 million leva by October 5. These hospitals have outstanding debts of 12 million leva and the prices of clinical pathways haven't been adjusted since 2010, he added.
