site.btaPresident Radev, Chinese Scholar Concur Bulgaria, China Should Develop Excellent Relations in All Areas
Sofia, January 10 (BTA) - President Rumen Radev Wednesday received the  Chinese scholar and author Gordon Wang, Vice President of the UN  Alliance of Civilizations, and stated that "Bulgaria and China have  excellent relations and we would like them to  develop comprehensively".  The meeting was attended by Chinese Ambassador Zhang Haizhou.
 
 Radev stressed that in addition to political and economic cooperation,  the two countries should develop relations in culture and education, and  that direct contacts between the two peoples should improve.
 
 He said Bulgaria supports and highly appreciates the 16+1 initiatives  for cooperation between China and the Central and East European  countries, whose summit this year will be held in Sofia. "We believe  that if China launches direct air service to Bulgaria, tourist numbers  will grow and more Chinese tourists will visit," Radev told Ambassador  Zhang.
 
 Prof. Wang expressed his admiration for the potential of the Bulgarian scholars he met.
