Sofia, March 27 (BTA) - Central bank data show that in the past decade more than 29 billion euro were invested in Bulgaria, with sustainable growth in the investments in sectors with high added value, Deputy Economy Minister Alexander Manolev said during an international conference IT Hub Connect 2018 said, quoted by the Economy Ministry. The event is organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria (AmCham) and the Indian-Bulgarian Business Chamber, and is held under the auspices of the Bulgarian EU Presidency.

The Netherlands is the country with the highest investments in the period under review, 6 billion euro, followed by Austria, 3 billion euro, Germany, 2 billion euro, and Greece 1.9 billion euro.

In 2017, 33 per cent of the foreign direct investment was in the manufacturing industry, and 32 per cent in trade and repair works of vehicles and motorcycles.

In 2017, the Economy Ministry issued 31 investment certificates, 15 for high-tech product lines and services. Since the start of 2018, ten investment certificates have been issued, six of which for projects in high-tech sectors.
