Sofia, April 13 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Denis Zvizdic, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, discussed Friday in Sofia the creation of a regional airline to connect the capitals of the Balkan countries, the two said, speaking to reporters in the building of the Council of Ministers. Zvizdic is paying an official visit to Sofia since Thursday at Borissov's invitation.

Borissov said that he has tasked the Transport Minister with studying the possibility for flights between four or five countries in the region who do not have airlines. The Prime Minister said that work is continuing on the other infrastructure projects: motorways and rail, stressing that each country on such routes should do its best to complete their parts.

Borissov stressed once again the importance of giving a genuine European perspective to the countries in the Western Balkans.

Zvizdic thanked Bulgaria for making the question of the EU membership of the countries in the Western Balkans a priority of the Bulgarian EU Presidency. He said that Bosnia and Herzegovina has fulfilled all requirements of the European Commission and expects to be given a status as an applicant country by the end of the year and commence membership negotiations. He said the country is working hard for integration in NATO, the rule of law, and the creation of contacts with the neighbouring countries. "Our goal is peace, stability and economic prosperity which will keep the young people in our country," the guest said.

Zvizdic noted that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a secular state, culturally belonging to Europe. There are four religions in the country but no form of radicalism is present, he said.
