site.btaEU Energy Ministers Hold Informal Meeting in Sofia
Sofia, April 19 (BTA) - The building of a stable European Energy Union is one of the highlights in the programme of the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council, Energy Minister Temenouzhka Petkova said at the opening of an informal meeting of EU energy ministers in Sofia Thursday.
The meeting, which is closed to journalists, is chaired by Petkova and is proceeding under the motto "Sustainable Energy Union with a Forward-looking Climate Change Policy."
Petkova said the "Clean Energy for All Europeans" legislative package is of fundamental importance and should be adopted promptly so that its ambitious goals can be fulfilled. The current Bulgarian EU Presidency wants to see successful discussions and negotiations with the European Parliament about some of the dossiers of the legislative package (concerning the management regulation) and the dossiers on energy efficiency and energy from renewable sources, she said.
She called for debates on the main points of the regulation on cooperation between EU regulators.
