site.btaBorissov Accepts Deputy Social Policy Minister's Resignation

Sofia, June 20 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov accepted the resignation of Deputy Labour and Social Policy Minister Rossitsa Dimitrova, the government information service said Wednesday.

Dimitrova resigned over the public reaction to her expensive trip to New York for the 11th Session of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) earlier in June. While mothers of disabled children are protesting at their paltry allowances, the deputy minister and an expert of her Ministry spent 16,000 leva in public money on a business-class flight.

The two were representing Bulgaria as President of the Conference in the 2017-2018 period, sharing Bulgaria's good practices in protecting the rights of people with disabilities.
