1921- the 19 th National Assembly passes an Act to Amend and Supplement the National Education Act providing for the opening of a Veterinary Faculty at St. Kliment Ohriski University of Sofia.

1990 - diplomatic relations with Ireland established.

2007 - first private T-post office opens first branch in Sofia.

2007 - in Tripoli, Lybia, the country's Supreme Court of Cassation confirms the death sentences of the five Bulgarian nurses issued on May 6, 2004. On July 24, 2007, the medics are released from Judeida prison and fly to Sofia with a French government plane, accompanied by the wife of President Nicolas Sarkozy, Cecilia, and European Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy, Benita Fererro-Waldner./LI/BR.//
