site.btaJoint Flights of Bulgarian, Greek, US and UK Air Forces during Thracian Star 2018 Exercise

Sofia, July 16 (BTA) - Air Force personnel of Bulgaria, Greece, the US and the UK will be participating in joint training during the Thracian Star 2018 exercise beginning Monday, said the Defence Ministry. They will be practicing a broad range of tactical missions and tasks.

The Bulgarian participation includes MiG-29 with crew from the Graf Ignatiev air base, Su-25 of the Bezmer base, L-39 of the Dolna Mitropolia aviation training group and missile defence units.

F-15C/D of the US Air Force will be operating from the Campia-Turzii airport in Romania and Eurofighter Typhoon of the Royal Air Force from the Mihail Kogalniceanu airport. The Greek Air Force will join in from their Nea Anchialos airbase.

Thracian Star is an annual international flight exercise which allows the participants to gain experience in real-life interaction in international environment, said the Defence Ministry.
