Sofia, July 30 (BTA) - Protests of parents of children with disabilities are set to continue on Monday and in the evening outside the Council of Ministers. They are expected to submit a formal opinion on a people with disabilities bill and have indicated that they support some of the provisions.

In a protest Emil Mavrodiev, a father of a disabled boy from the southern town of Plovdiv, came to Sofia to leave his son in the care of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov as he has no means to ensure the necessary rehabilitation therapy. His son Peter has been admitted to university to study special pedagogy. Emerging from a meeting with Borissov, the father and son said that the conversation was very sympathetic and that the Prime Minister committed to helping resolve the problems of all people with disabilities based on their needs. They also said that on July 31 the Prime Minister will hold a meeting of mother of children with disabilities.

According to Peter Mavrodiev, this is the only way that the demands of people with disabilities can be heeded to and make the public realize that these are people with both personal and professional potential and they want to find realization in Bulgaria.

A working group involved with the preparation of a bill on people with disabilities is holding its last meeting at the Labour Ministry on Monday. Participating are Labour Minister Bisser Petkov, Ombudsman Maya Manolova, members of the competent nationally representatives organizations and mothers of children with disabilities.

Participants are expected to give a news briefing after the meeting.
