site.btaBolhrad in Ukrainian Bessarabia to Celebrate 204 Years Since Its Founding on August 25

The city of Bolhrad in Odessa Region will celebrate its 204th anniversary on August 25 with a cultural programme on the central square and in cultural institutions of the city, the Center for Culture and Recreation of the Bolhrad City Council said on its Facebook page on Wednesday. 

The events will include a minute of remembrance, a solemn raising of the state and city flags, thematic initiatives and an international folklore festival. The celebration will begin with a nationwide minute of silence and a flag-raising ceremony.

The celebrations are part of a three-day celebration of the State Flag Day, Independence Day and the anniversary of the Founding of Bolhrad.

The city of Bolhrad is the administrative centre of the Bolhrad District, where ethnic Bulgarians make up over 60% of the population.
