Migratory birds and their flyway between Bulgaria and Austria are in the focus of a project organized by Austria's Farout Kunst Kollektiv organization. Between October 10 and 17, Bulgarian artists Yeto and JahOne drew two temporary murals each, which direct the attention to the migratory birds the two countries share, said the blog of Bulgarians in Austria Melange Bulgaren.
The project makes a direct connection between cultural exchange of artists from the two countries and birds who share migratory routes.
The contemporary murals can be seen at Hauptstrasse and Barbarafriedhof in Linz.
In addition to drawing the murals, the Bulgarian artists took part in meetings and talks, focused on environmental protection and enrichment of public space.
On the Bulgarian side, the project was prepared by the Sofia-based Visionary nongovernmental organization, which produces urban art, namely graffiti and contemporary murals.
Visionary founder Delyana Angelova told the blog of Bulgarians in Austria that this is her organization's second time working with Austria's Farut Kunst Kollektiv. They met for the first time in Bulgaria.
The project is supported by the Bulgarian capital's Culture Programme 2024 and the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds.
