The celebration of National Awakeners' Day began with the national anthems of Bulgaria and Ukraine at the Renaissance Banquet Hall in Odesa on Saturday. The event is part of the Week of Bulgarian Culture in Odesa and the region. 

The official ceremony opened with remarks from the hosts, who recalled that various events dedicated to Bulgarian culture had taken place in Odesa over the past week.

Among the official guests were Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) Director General Kiril Valchev, folk singer Iliya Lukov, MP and Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Direct Citizen Participation Rositsa Kirova, Deputy Minister of Culture Ashot Kazaryan, Chargé d’Affaires of the Bulgarian Embassy in Kyiv Elena Slatinska-Ovanezova, Director of the Taraclia branch of Ruse University Aleksandr Borimecicov, Odesa City Council Secretary Ihor Koval, and Odesa Region Ombudsman representative Maria Popova, among others.
