Florida Moon Tree
Students from St. Peter Catholic School in DeLand, Fla., plant a "moon tree," a loblolly pine grown from seeds that orbited the earth on NASA's Artemis I Moon mission in 2022, during a ceremony at the school, Wednesday, May 29, 2024. Grown to the seedling stage by the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service, the tree is only one of two in Florida —only 50 nationwide— that are being planted at schools as a part of the Artemis Moon Trees Initiative.
