site.btaCabinet Submits 2025 Budget Bills to Parliament
The caretaker cabinet has submitted to the National Assembly the 2025 State Budget Bill, the Public Social Insurance Budget Bill and the National Health Insurance Fund Budget Bill, the government press service reported on Friday.
The government drafted the bills to ensure fiscal stability and the normal functioning of the state, the press release reads. The parameters and assumptions under which the 2025 budget and the updated medium-term forecast for the 2025-2028 period have been developed are based on the autumn macroeconomic forecast of the Ministry of Finance, the current legislation and the need to implement revenue and expenditure measures, as well as ensuring the adopted expenditure policies.
An agreement was reached with the business sector to pay a one-off contribution for 2025 instead of the proposed tax on subsurface resources, which is expected to bring in around BGN 150 million. To this end, the State Budget Bill provides for an update of the regulation setting the concession fees.
