site.btaVazrazhdane Accuses Velichie of Trying to Sabotage Bulgarian Seaside Tourism

Leader of the Velichie party Ivelin Mihaylov took the floor in Parliament on Thursday to denigrate the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, citing data that it is dirty, unsuitable for holidays, makes children ill, and other inappropriate things, Konstantina Petrova from the Vazrazhdane party told journalists in Parliament Friday.
In a statement on Thursday, Mihaylov said that on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast untreated water was being poured directly into a nature reserve and from there it went directly into the sea.
After his statement, according to Petrova, Vazrazhdane received calls from hoteliers in the Burgas, Dobrich and Varna regions demanding that the state intervene.
“Judging by how Ivelin Mihaylov and his organized group Velichie operate – if you pay them, you are the best, if not, they turn against you and discredit you – hoteliers suspect that the same thing has happened now. He is probably receiving funding from outside to redirect tourists,” Petrova commented. Vazrazhdane is calling on Bulgarian citizens not to succumb to such manipulation, as Bulgarian beaches are not dirty.
“With such an anti-campaign in the middle of the season, we are killing Bulgarian tourism,” Petrova emphasized.
