A photo exhibition entitled Ukrainian Costumes and Traditions is visiting Burgas until November 9 and can be seen at the Ethnographic Museum, said the Regional History Museum of the seaside city on Monday.

The exhibition is composed of a total of 12 panels showing photographs by Dmitry Peretrutov, as well as exhibits and original objects representing the traditions of the country, collected and provided by the Ukrainian Embassy in Bulgaria. Calendars with photos will be for sale, with the funds to be sent to support wounded soldiers, as well as for the activities of a number of cultural institutions in Ukraine.

The idea for the exhibition was developed by Yaroslava Gres and Oleksandr Todorchuk, whose goal is to popularize traditional Ukrainian folk costumes, which are an integral part of the Ukrainian cultural heritage and embody part of Ukrainian identity and uniqueness. The project dates back to 2014 and various thematic exhibitions have been organized in 35 countries around the world.

The exhibition in Burgas is organized within the framework of the cooperation between the Ukrainian Embassy in Bulgaria, the State Cultural Institute under the Bulgarian Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in Burgas.
