site.btaCabinet Approves BGN 710,000 for Medical Expert Evaluation Activities
The Council of Ministers Wednesday approved BGN 710,000 in additional expenditure under the Health Ministry's budget to increase the subsidy for medical expert evaluation activities in the last calendar quarter of 2024, the Government Information Service reported.
The increase of the subsidy is related to the increase to BGN 100 from BGN 60 of an expert evaluation decision that has entered into force, when that decision has been taken by the territorial medical expert evaluation boards as part of a procedure to determine/re-determine a person's permanently reduced work ability/type and level of disability in advance, within two months of that person applying for a medical expert evaluation. The need to increase the resources stems from amendments to the Rules of Procedure of the work of medical expert evaluation bodies; the main goal of the changes is to overcome the significant delay of the evaluation, which in some territorial medical expert evaluation boards takes up to three or four years, the Government Information Service said.
