On behalf of the French government and the law enforcement authorities, Meyer expressed his appreciation to the Bulgarian Interior Ministry and some of its heroes, officers of the Directorate General for Combating Organized Crime and the General Directorate for Border Police, who participated in the mission with their police dogs.
"The Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris were a real success. This was possible thanks to good security organization. The credit goes not only to France, but also to our international and especially European partners from all EU Member States," the Ambassador added.
Caretaker Interior Minister Ilkov noted that the security of the Olympics is a big responsibility and France has met the challenge flawlessly.
Between July 11 and September 9, 2024, the Interior Ministry deployed 31 border police officers and 5 teams of explosive detection dogs to support the French police.
