site.btaBulgarian Table Tennis Team Heads to European Championships in Austria
Five Bulgarian national table tennis players left on Monday for the European Individual Championships for men and women, which will be held in Linz, Austria, between October 15 and 20, 2024.
Maria Yovkova, Tsvetelina Georgieva, and Viktoria Persova will begin in the women's qualifiers, while Vladimir Petkov and Yoan Velichkov will start in the men's preliminaries.
Persova is in group 3, Yovkova in group 4, and Georgieva in group 11 for singles. Petkov is in group 15, and Velichkov in group 20 for men's singles.
The Bulgarian male players will compete in men's doubles, while Yovkova and Georgieva will play in the women's doubles qualifiers.
Persova will partner with Latvia’s Aleksandra Jersova in the women's doubles event. Petkov/Persova and Velichkov/Yovkova will participate in the mixed doubles.
Coach Deyan Georgiev and Bulgarian Table Tennis Federation's (BTTF) international coordinator Alexander Nachev are accompanying the team.
BTTF chair Stefan Kitov will also join the delegation to attend the European Table Tennis Union congress for leadership elections.
