site.btaGerman Carriages to Run on New Direct Sofia-Ruse Train Service

Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) announced Friday the launch of a direct train service on the Sofia-Ruse-Sofia route. Starting October 1, this change aims to improve service for passengers traveling between both cities.

Up to now, passengers used at least one connecting train to travel between Sofia and Ruse.

Newly delivered refurbished German carriages will be used on the new direct express trains service.

The new service will undergo a one-month evaluation to assess their necessity and effectiveness of having a direct service between Sofia and Ruse.

Tickets can be purchased online or at stations, with a 20% discount for return tickets, and train schedules are available on BDZ's website and information services.

Ruse regional governor Dragomir Draganov encouraged residents to opt for this mode of transport, pointing out its affordability, eco-friendliness, and ease of use.
