Caretaker Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov met with Deputy Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Ulrik Knudsen in New York, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' press service said on Wednesday.
Kondov reaffirmed Bulgaria's ambition to wrap up accession negotiations with the OECD by the end of 2025 and to continue working diligently towards this key foreign policy priority.
Kondov assured Knudsen that Bulgaria is committed to implementing OECD recommendations aimed at improving economic stability, the investment climate, and living standards in Bulgaria. He noted that these improvements would positively impact the entire region of Southeast Europe.
Kondov expressed gratitude for the support and commitment from the OECD Secretariat, the review panels, and Knudsen himself for Bulgaria's accession process. He also extended an invitation to Knudsen to an official visit to Bulgaria.
Knudsen congratulated Bulgaria on the progress in the negotiations and confirmed that completing them by the end of 2025 is a shared goal.
