Vazrazhdane have submitted to Parliament a draft declaration in connection with "the systematic and methodical undermining of the dialogue between North Macedonia and Bulgaria and provocative and offensive statements against Bulgaria by ruling politicians in North Macedonia."
Last Friday, in the wake of statements by Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Nikoloski, Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov said that he intended to submit a draft declaration.
The declaration states that the National Assembly declares its political intention and aspiration to complete the construction of PanEuropean Corridor VIII on the Bulgarian side and calls on the Government of North Macedonia to approach responsibly and in good faith all the commitments and agreements made in order to ensure the timely construction of the sections of the route on its territory. The declaration calls for the resumption of the positive dialogue interrupted by North Macedonia and the end of the anti-Bulgarian campaign and provocative statements against Bulgaria.
The draft document calls on the EU and the European Commission to pay attention to and condemn the offensive remarks by Nikoloski, "with which he calls Bulgarians 'uncivilized', and Bulgarian politicians 'marginal' and 'corrupt'".
