site.btaDeputy Foreign Minister Shekerletova Receives Credentials of New Kyrgyzstani Ambassador

Deputy Foreign Minister Elena Shekerletova met the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Bulgaria, Idris Kadyrkulov, and received copies of his credentials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Ambassador will be stationed in Kiyv, the Ministry's press service said on Tuesday.

Bulgaria traditionally views the Kyrgyz Republic as a reliable partner, alongside other countries in the Central Asia region. The two nations maintain traditionally good and constructive bilateral relations, characterised by friendship and goodwill. Zaharieva and Kadyrkulov agreed on the need to activate and expand bilateral trade and economic contacts.

Bulgaria is interested in strengthening its bilateral relations with the Kyrgyz Republic and supports their deepening both bilaterally and within the context of the EU Strategy for Central Asia, adopted in 2019. This strategy aligns with the EU's policy of enhanced cooperation and partnership with Central Asian countries, considering the significant geopolitical and economic changes occurring in the region.

During the meeting, both sides confirmed their desire to expand bilateral cooperation in various areas of mutual interest, with a special focus on participation in both bilateral and multilateral projects related to Europe-Asia connectivity.

The discussion also included current developments in the international situation, challenges to global stability and peace, and other topics on the international agenda.
