site.btaE-Government Minister Mundrov Discusses Digitalization of Medical Notes for Children, Students
Minister of Electronic Governance Valentin Mundrov held a working meeting with key representatives from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Science, his Ministry said in a press release on Friday. During the meeting, a plan was outlined for the digitization of all medical notes required by schools and kindergartens at the start of each academic year. For the process to be successful, necessary regulatory changes must be made promptly, the press release continued.
The Ministry of Education and Science is working on implementing the electronic information exchange system. By the end of October, medical notes confirming no contact with infectious diseases, which are currently required by nurseries and kindergartens, will be eliminated.
At the meeting, the discussion focused on digitizing personal health records for children and students. The three Ministries agreed that this school year would be the last for paper documents.
With the upgrade of the National Health Information System, all data recorded in health cards will be digitized during a child's check-up. The remaining task is to synchronize the information exchange between the relevant stakeholders.
