Dimitar Glavchev, who has been designated as prime minister in a second successive caretaker government, intends to open talks with the MPs on Tuesday for nominations for a European commissioner. Glavchev broached the subject while presenting his proposal for a new caretaker cabinet to President Rumen Radev on Monday.
Glavchev expects the MPs to nominate candidates for a new Bulgarian member of the European Commission, who will then be considered by the Council of Ministers. "I think we will make a good choice," he told the President.
He commented: "Our government has coped with its main tasks so far. The most important task was to organize fair elections. We did not hear any comments to the contrary, which means we coped with the task. As I said before, it is always possible to achieve better results. This is what we will try to do. The changes I have proposed in communicating with you are along these lines."
