The 16th Sung Poetry Salty Winds international festival will be held on August 23 and 24 at the Ohlyuva [Snail] outdoor stage in Burgas, the organisers said on Monday.

Twenty-six solo performers and five poet-guitarist duos have registered for the upcoming bard festival. Participants from Italy and Russia are also expected.

The festival provides a platform for artists to showcase their work and participate in the competition. This year participants are primarily young talents, supported by bards and bands from Burgas, the organisers said.

The competition features a record number of new original songs, with ten entries in total.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for August 23, with the award ceremony taking place the next day.
