At a meeting on Tuesday, Continue the Change (CC) MPs reaffirmed the position of CC's National Council that the 50th National Assembly does not have the necessary majority to create a true reformist, anti-corruption and pro-European government, CC's press office said.

CC makes it clear that they will not participate in talks on the implementation of a government-forming mandate within the 50th National Assembly. A discussion is to be held within the joint parliamentary group of the Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria, the press release said.

Speaking to journalists after the Tuesday meeting of CC MPs, party co-leader Kiril Petkov categorically refused to talk with the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) regarding the second government-forming mandate. In this composition of the 50th National Assembly there is no way to form a government that works for the Bulgarian citizens, one that is Europe oriented and is against corruption, he said.

On July 7, CC came out with a position that the party does not see conditions in the 50th National Assembly for the formation of a pro-European, anti-corruption cabinet. The idea of a technical cabinet with a third mandate was presented after a meeting of the Executive Council of Democrats for a Strong Bulgaria, one of the parties in the Democratic Bulgaria coalition (part of the CC-DB parliamentary group). On Monday, at a meeting of the National Council of Yes, Bulgaria political party, it was decided that the coalition should make efforts to obtain and implement the third exploratory mandate in the 50th National Assembly only if there is a majority for anti-corruption reforms.
