Days of Morocco
Start in
Bulgaria

Sofia, November 19 (BTA) - Wood carving with foot and rope,
henna tattoos, and calligraphy on postcards are some of the
attractions of the Days of Morocco in Bulgaria, which take place
from November 19 to 30 in Sofia. Moroccan Ambassador Latifa
Akharbach presented the festival's programme to the media on
Tuesday.

Akharbach explained that the traditional crafts are at the
centre of attention of the Days of Morocco in Bulgaria for three
reasons: they are in second place of importance in the Moroccan
economy - 2.3 million people are employed in this sphere, they
are of world significance, and they represent Moroccan people's
culture and creative potential.

The exhibition of traditional crafts takes place at Sofia's
Paradise Centre on an area of 800 sq m, where around 50
craftsmen make presentations to the visitors. Presented at the
festival are architecture, pottery, rug making, saddlery,
jewellery making, shoe making, calligraphy, hena tattooing, wood
carving, and metalworking with a focus on silver.

The Moroccan Ambassador put an emphasis on the screening of
"Horses of God" at the House of Cinema on November 28. The drama
directed by Nabil Ayouch was awarded at the 2012 Cannes Film
Festival and other prestigious international film festivals. The
production is based on actual events - the 2003 Casablanca
bombings - and deals not with terrorism but the methods through
which Islamists turn children into living bombs.

Also on the festival's programme are a fashion show of Moroccan
clothing, presentations on Morocco as a tourist destination, and
tasting of Moroccan cuisine and wines.
