Sofia, November 20 (BTA) - The coach of the Bulgarian national
football team, Lyuboslav Penev, was sacked at Thursday's
extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the
Bulgarian Football Union (BFU), BFU Vice-President Yordan
Lechkov said.
BFU Executive Committee member Nasko Sirakov said that there
will be very serious cardinal changes at all levels.
BFU President Borislav Mihaylov told a news conference that the
Union is not yet ready to appoint a new coach but added that
this position will not be given to a foreigner.
The BFU's decision comes after a series of dissatisfactory
performances by the national football team in the qualifications
for the European Championship.
