Korean Companies Interested in Automotive
Industry and Hi-Tech
Sector in Bulgaria

Seoul, November 21 (BTA) - Business executives, representatives
of the banking sector and journalists attended a presentation
held in Seoul Thursday by the InvestBulgaria Agency.

Among the guests of honour were Choi Joon-Ho of the Korea -
Bulgaria Council for Economic Cooperation and Jessica Lai of the
Brunei economic development board, among others.

The Seoul event is part of a programme aimed to popularize
Bulgaria as a business and investment destination in 10 cities
in seven countries in Europe, Asia and North America from
October 20 to November 21, 2014. The project is funded by the
EU-supported Operational Programme Competitiveness.

The Bulgarian Ambassador to Korea, Peter Andonov, said that the
government will attract foreign investment by reducing the
administrative burden and improving the regulatory framework.
The public procurement procedures will be improved and control
will be stepped up by introducing electronic tendering and
electronic government services.

Ambassador Andonov was adamant that Bulgaria can be a fine
business partner and attractive destination both for large
corporations and small and mid-sized companies from Korea which
seek opportunities to expand their overseas business.

He singled out the automotive and ICT industry, software
development and outsourcing among the most promising areas. He
said that A.T. Kerney recently ranked Bulgaria ninth in the
world and first in Europe as an outsourcing destination. SN/LN/
