Patriotic Front Chairman Simeonov Comments Quitting of MP from Parliamentary Group
Sofia, December 1 (BTA) - Commenting a purported wish to quit
the parliamentary group of the Patriotic Front (PF) of MP
Velizar Enchev on Sunday, PF Chairman Valeri Simeonov told BTA
that "there was not an actual fact of quitting on the part of
Enchev". Simeonov said that Enchev has two penalties in the
parliamentary group and quits to avoid being expelled.
In a TV broadcast on Sunday Enchev signed a letter to National
Assembly Chairperson Tsetska Tsacheva on his quitting the PF's
group. As reasons for leaving the group Enchev stated "the total
replacement and political deceit perpetrated by the leadership
of the PF coalition". In the TV broadcast Enchev said that
"nothing gets discussed in our parliamentary group; instead,
whatever Simeonov says, happens".
If Enchev leaves PF's group, it will have 18 MPs. Enchev was one
of the two MPs of the PF who voted against Boyko Borissov's
nomination for Prime Minister and against Tsacheva's candidacy
for chairing the National Assembly.
